In der Forschungsabteilung stehen spezielle Untersuchungs-methoden vorwiegend für Forschungszwecke zur Verfügung. Eingeschlossen sind das Biotechnologie-, Zell-, Zytostatika-, Biorheologie-, Spektroskopie-, HPLC-, Durchflusszytometrie-, Laserscanningmikroskopie- und Blutgaslabor.
Im Rahmen von DFG-, BMBF- und EU-Projekten wird an folgenden Schwerpunkten gearbeitet:

In einem ZIM-Kooperationsprojekt mit Serana Europe GmbH und Biophyll GmbH werden qualifizierte und stabilisierte Hämoglobin-Enzym-Komplexlösungen als Medizinprodukt bzw. für pharmazeutische Anwendungen hergestellt. Weitere Informationen sind zu finden unter https://www.biophyll.com/
Im Rahmen des Sino-German rapid response funding call for COVID-19 arbeiten wir seit Oktober 2020 gemeinsam mit unserem Kooperationspartner, dem Institut für Bluttransfusion in Chengdu an der Entwicklung eines Virus-Scavengers.

Natürliche Drug Carrier

Erythrozyten und Thrombozyten können ex-vivo mit Pharmaka beladen und ihre Oberfläche mit Antikörpern z.B. zu Tumordetektion modifiziert werden. Diese natürlichen Drugcarrier können sowohl für diagnostische als auch für therapeutische Zwecke eingesetzt werden.
